Idyll is a menu-bar app for macOS that reminds you to rest your eyes. At a chosen interval it fills the screen with a vintage engraving and a short message, so you look away for a moment. Thank you for using it.
Idyll lives in the menu bar (the eye icon, top-right). Click it for Take a Break Now, Pause, and Settings. There is no Dock icon and no window — that is by design.
Open Settings from the menu-bar icon to set how often breaks appear, how long they last, sound, and more. Changes save automatically.
Idyll is free to use. A one-time purchase, Idyll Full, unlocks the complete collection of drawings, custom background images, and longer breaks.
Already bought it? Open Settings and tap Restore — it brings your purchase back on any Mac signed in to the same Apple ID, at no charge.
Idyll collects no data. Nothing you do is tracked, stored remotely, or shared. All settings stay on your Mac.
